To easily check the eligibility for Free School Meals and the Pupil Premium Service please click on the image.
If you are eligible school can also gain welcome additional funding. This is known as ‘Pupil Premium’. If eligible, you are not obliged to accept the free school meal for your child if you wish to make other arrangements, but we do want to encourage applications as the additional funding gained would still benefit education provision at the school.
What the Service does for Parents
After entering essential details into the website, the online application process links to the Department for Education system for checking eligibility and gives an immediate ‘yes’ or ‘no’ response and notifies the school.
Universal infant free school meals (UIFSM) provides funding for all government funded schools to offer free school meals to pupils in reception, year 1, and year 2. If your child will be in Reception Class, Year 1 or Year 2 it is important that you still check your eligibility for Free School Meals (as school can receive additional funding).
School will no longer be able to do the checks for you and without notification of eligibility from LGFL we will not be able to authorise Free School Meals.
